The trek starts from Chopta and is about 3.5 km long. The path is paved and easy to follow, making it ideal for beginners and families. Along the way, you’ll walk through rhododendron forests, meadows, and stunning mountain backdrops.

Trekking in Chandrashila – Touch the Sky at 4,000 Meters

Once you reach Tungnath, you can continue for another 1.5 km to reach the summit of Chandrashila, which means “Moon Rock.” This short but steep climb takes you to an altitude of around 4,000 meters, offering one of the most stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas.

From the top, you can witness a 360-degree view of mighty peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Dome, and Chaukhamba. It’s especially popular for catching the sunrise – the golden light hitting the peaks is an unforgettable sight.
